Anatomical Patterning
Arc’teryx Veilance garments are patterned to fit the anatomical shaping of the human body. Fabric sections are cut into unique shapes that interconnect on a three-dimensional plane, and gussets and panels are integrated into the garment in critical areas. The result is a garment that fits the compound curves of the body, enabling a greater freedom of movement with increased comfort when either stationery, or in motion.
Drop Pockets With Pocket Flaps
Drop pockets with integrated fold-over fabric sections on the inside of the pocket flaps provide a weatherproof shelter without the use of bulky zippers. Paired with laminated technology for a sleek profile, these pockets seal effectively against external moisture while providing an easy-to-access opening. The outer flap conceals a fold of laminated GORE-TEX fabric that seals shut against itself, creating a barrier against penetrating water.
Cuff Closures
Our smooth-sliding cuff adjusters feature a friction-lock buckle and webbing system that eliminates the need for Velcro tabs. This effective closure system can be quickly and effortlessly tightened or loosened with one hand.
Document/Boarding Pass Pockets
Several of our garments feature low-profile laminated pockets, sized to accommodate essential items such as electronics, passports, boarding passes and documents up to A4/Legal size. Die cut panels are laminated to the garment in the optimal location and are less bulky than traditional sewn-in pockets.
Pen Pocket/Phone Pockets
Slender drop pockets—constructed using a panel of heavy-gauge nylon webbing with a rigid, laminated brim—provide protective storage compartments for an assortment of pens or mechanical pencils. Stretch woven phone holders securely hold delicate electronics inside pant cargo pockets.
Stow Hood
The Stow Hood is a versatile, packable hood that tucks away in a discreet compartment in the garment’s collar, either in a zippered pocket, or within an integrated panel of fabric. Easily accessible, the hood can remain out of sight until weather turns wet and added protection from the elements is needed. The hood itself features integrated webbing adjusters that allow the hood to be cinched tight to seal out rain and snow.
