Construction

Arc'teryx has pioneered many of the textile construction techniques now commonplace in outerwear manufacturing. As established industry leaders in the field of performance-outerwear, our accolades speak of our ability to implement these processes in order to optimize quality and performance in our products.

By combining progressive design-concepts with innovative construction techniques, Arc'teryx Veilance has created a line of visually stunning garments that offer exceptional protection from the elements and provide superior comfort and durability for the user.

We apply intricate patterning processes that enable us to shape our garments to fit the body anatomically. We select only the highest-quality performance fabrics that provide protection and comfort, and we employ innovative textile-based construction techniques that assure you of a user-experience that will challenge you to expect more from your clothes.

Several of the garment construction processes we apply are:

  • Anatomical patterning for a perfect fit whilst moving or stationary
  • Laminated construction processes that deliver a clean, modern look, and eliminate bulk and stiffness
  • Micro-seam allowances that reduce weight and allow our garments to lie smooth and flat against the body
  • WaterTight™ zippers and Leak-proof pocket-flaps that add a unique style, and increase protection from the elements

Our technologies are proven and tested in the most extreme environments, our designs are infused with functionality and aesthetic appeal, and our standard of quality and attention to detail is uncompromising. As a wearer of a Veilance piece, you are guaranteed to notice the superior quality, comfort and fit of your garment.

Pocket Flap Construction

Unique pocket flap construction creates waterproof pockets without zippers for easy entry, a distinctive look and full weather protection.

Laminated Collars

Laminated collar retains shape without the stiffness of traditional interfacing.

WaterTight™ Zippers

WaterTight™ zippers are engineered to form a very tight interlocking closure that reliably repels moisture. They are laminated to the garment to eliminate seams and preserve waterproof integrity.

Seam Tape

Interior fleece is skived off of the seam allowance in a technique similar to those used for fine shoe and leather making to guarantee leak free waterproof taped seams. Width of the seam tape is engineered to a custom width that maximizes seam flexibility while ensuring proper coverage. Seam tape is brushed to match the softness of fleece interior.

Seam Allowance

Seams are trimmed to micro allowances to increase suppleness, reduce bulk and reduce weight. Taped with matching Pro Shell seam tape for completely waterproof seams and a spotless interior without lining.
